The Being Me School Program

A Collaborative Approach in Increasing Social Emotional Competencies in Youth.

What is the Being Me School Program?

The Being Me School School Program is a six-session, in-classroom facilitated mental health program designed to help students understand all aspects of anxiety and how it impacts them in their daily life. We provide fun and interactive evidence-based strategies for children to quickly identify & manage their anxiety effectively.

This hands-on program has two primary objectives:

  1. To increase social-emotional well-being in children and youth

According to the National Center for Emotional Wellness, the term “Emotional Wellness” refers to an awareness, understanding, and acceptance of your emotions and your ability to manage them effectively through life’s challenges and changes.

  2. To improve knowledge and understanding about mental health

Research indicates that a better understanding of mental health decreases the chance for a child to develop mental health difficulties later on in life and could, in turn, have a greater impact on their future success.

“The Being Me Program not only benefits the children at school, it also has an impact on the entire family.  My daughter brings home her strategies and shares them with us and her siblings with excitement and achievement. When your children are excited and looking forward to their time with Lucy at school, it puts a smile on your face and theirs”.
