ABOUT THE FARM

Lil’ Steps Miniatures & Wellness Farm is a fully comprehensive sensory therapy facility located in St. Malo, MB. We specialize in treating both adults and children suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD etc.

We offer a range of services & programs including play therapy, animal-assisted therapy/counselling, equine-facilitated wellness and so much more. Both team and individual therapy options are available and make use of our horses and other animals on the farm.

Animals are sentient beings whose ability to pick up on emotion helps to teach young people the impact of their behaviours, actions and how to learn from and empathize with other people and creatures.  Communication skills, self-confidence, and greater self-knowledge all grow exponentially through our programs. Whether the struggle is physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, social or behavioural, our animals are able to create an excellent learning platform for children and adults.

Our farm and programs are wonderful therapeutic experiences. To learn more about the program & services we offer, click here

Floriane Vermiere
Natural Horsemanship Trainer

I’m Floriane Vermeire and I was born with horses in my blood! At the age of 4, I was already working with them! One day, I found the method of Natural Horsemanship, however, because I was so young; nobody wanted to teach me.  So I decided to start by myself!  I have spent years growing my knowledge through many lessons, clinics, and certifications. When I was 16, I decided to share my knowledge and experience with others to teach them about the beauty of learning how to communicate and connect with horses from a horse perspective.

I have worked in many ranches with kids and teens with a variety of needs including; autism, anxiety, and ADHD.  I have a deep love and passion for this work.  In September 2017, I moved from Belgium to Canada. I was able to save a wild horse from the auction to give this sentient being another chance.  She is one of my many horses in training; where I help caterpillars turn into wonderful butterflies.

I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with your child and help dreams come true; just as they have for me!
